The Fiji Roads Authority will be installing 2,591 street lights in Viti Levu this year.
This has been confirmed by the FRA CEO Jonathan Moore.
Moore says 867 street lights will be installed between Navua to Sigatoka along the Queens Road, 1,600 street lights between Ba to Nausori along the Kings Road and 124 lights will be installed in Navua.
The CEO says the street lighting project along the Queens and Kings roads is expected to be complete by June this year while the project in Navua is expected to be complete by the end of next month.
Moore says FRA is about to start work on the street lights in Savusavu and Labasa which is in the tender process.
