Fiji Red Cross is looking at constructing 50 houses for people who have been severely affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
This is the next phase of rehabilitation work carried out by Fiji Red Cross as about 12,500 families have already been assisted through tarpaulins, shelter and dignity kits.
Director General Filipe Nainoca says their assistance will now target helping people to rebuild their homes.
He says they will also be training carpenters on how to build better houses.
These houses will be constructed in areas like Bua, Taveuni, Savusavu, Nalawa and Levuka.
Nainoca says they will make sure that there is no doubling up as government is also providing help for people to rebuild their homes.
Fiji Red Cross has so far received about $1.1 million in donations after Tropical Cyclone Winston.
Meanwhile, Fijian soldiers in the British Army held various fundraising efforts in the United Kingdom, Germany and Cyprus in response to Tropical Cyclone Winston.
British High Commissioner Roderick Drummond presented a cheque of $43,300 to Nainoca this morning.
