The Fiji Red Cross Society team has distributed about 55,000 litres of clean water to the people affected by the prolonged dry weather condition in Naitasiri.
The Red Cross Society’s Resource Development Manager Dianne Masih-Reddy said the Red Cross Society team has been based at the Lomaivuna cluster of Naitasiri since Tuesday and will be there till next Friday.
Reddy said the society is assisting the Commissioner Central’s Office by pumping clean drinking water using the NOMAD purification unit.
She said the clean water will be distributed by the Water Authority of Fiji and Disaster Management Committee Central to the affected areas.
