Fiji Red Cross Society Youth Summit attracts youth from around Fiji

The first ever Fiji Red Cross Society Youth Summit has attracted youths from across the country.

Fiji Red Cross Society’s Manager Dianne Masi Reddy, said that the summit is part of building and strengthening the youth component and development within the society that will build and enhance the capacity of youth.

Meanwhile, Youth Coordinator, Sevuloni Ratu said that a total of seventy seven youth delegates from around the country are attending this summit which includes 36 youths from Western Division, 29 from the Northern Division and 12 from the Central Division.

He said the young people are provided with the knowledge and skills so that they can deliver service and help create awareness in their community.

The summit will include the workshops and sessions on natural disasters, climate change, health related issues affecting young people and also the demonstration of safety during emergencies.

The theme for the three days Youth Summit which ends tomorrow is ‘Fiji’s Young Humanitarians for Action’.
