Fiji Men’s football team loses to Mexico

The Fiji Men’s Football team lost their second pool match to Mexico 5-1 this morning.

Fiji was leading 1-0 at half time against Mexico who are the 2012 London Olympics gold medalists.

Fiji captain Roy Krishna scored Fiji’s first goal at the Olympics in the 11th minute.

Mexico scored their first goal in the 56th minute.

Eric Gutierrez scored four goals for Mexico.

Fiji’s last pool game will be against Germany at 7am Thursday.

In boxing, lone boxer Winston Hill will face Vladimir Margaryan of Armenia in the Men’s Welterweight 69kg category this hour.

In weightlifting, Manueli Tulo who is competing in his second Olympic Games in the 56kg category equalled his recent personal best with a snatch of 106kg, clean and jerk of 136kg for a total of 242kg.

Tulo's current placing is fifth place in Group B with the overall placing to be finalised after Group A competes at 10 this morning.
