Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association President says they are glad environment levy was not increased
Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association President Dixon Seeto

Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association President Dixon Seeto says they had proposed that the Environment and Climate Adaption Levy net be widened to include many other industries, but they are glad the levy was not increased.

Seeto says the Hotel Turnover Tax was turned into a Service Turnover Tax so it had a broader base and with a broader base the percentage can be brought down. He says that was what they were hoping for.

The Environment and Climate Adaption Levy collected till 30th April this year amounted to $110.6 million which funded 46 government projects towards the Tourism Industry.
