Fiji First MP Balmindar Singh was arrested by FICAC officers this morning after a bench warrant was issued against him by the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Singh failed to appear in court as a prosecution witness in a FICAC case against Vishal Chand.
Singh’s bench warrant has been cancelled.
FICAC charged Vishal Chand for one count of official bribery.
It is alleged that Chand gave $30 to a tallyman of the PWD to deliver a truck load of sand to his residence.
The tallyman had pleaded guilty to the offence and was bound over.
Chand has pleaded not guilty and the hearing is underway at the Suva Magistrates Court.
