Fiji Fashion week marking its 10 year anniversary is a tremendous achievement not just for Fiji but for the Pacific.
Serenia Raura who won last years award of Fiji Fashion top Model, says that the 10 years of Fiji Fashion week has also opened up a lot of opportunities for those who are average academic achievers to pursue profession with their talents.
The 21-year-old began modelling last year and is currently a second year student of the University of the South Pacific and a double major in Management and Politics.
Raura says that before modelling she had a lot of issues with her confidence and Fiji Fashion weeks gives girls a great way to develop their skills, network and build their confidence.
She says from being the shy and timid girl that could not walk in front of crowds of people, with guidance and practice she was able to overcome her fears and win Fiji Fashion top Model of the year award.
She encourages young aspiring models this year to take on new challenges and have fun.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Fashion Week will be held from Monday the 22nd of May to Saturday the 27th of May at the Vodafone Arena.
