The Fiji Fashion Week has become a board member of the Commonwealth Fashion Council in London.
FJFW Managing Director Ellen Whippy‑Knight was one of eight Commonwealth Fashion Council members to attend a private audience and be formally presented to Their Royal Highnesses, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge and Sophie, The Countess of Wessex, at Buckingham Palace.
Ellen Whippy‑Knight, was also part of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange, that brings together designers, artisans, business leaders and others from 53 Commonwealth countries.
A garment by Fiji designer Hupfeld Hoerder represented Fiji at the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange.
The Commonwealth Fashion Council unites over 20 nations from across the Commonwealth Fashion Industries.
Commonwealth Fashion Council CEO, Daniel Hatton recommended FJFW as the body to assist the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange to identify Pacific Island Designers to participate in the event.
Fiji Fashion Week, organised in collaboration with the Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji will be held May 25‑26, at the FMF Gymnasium, Suva.
