Emergency response during disasters in Fiji is set to improve following the $610,000 donation of emergency equipment by the Australian High Commission.
The equipment will be used by the Fiji Emergency Medical Team which has a total of 31 members.
The equipment was officially handed over to the Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete.

The equipment will be used to help respond to emergencies during disasters as this will enable teams to set up temporary health centers.
The donation includes tents, portable water purification units, lights and communication equipment
