The Fiji Cancer Society has assisted more than 160 patients to date.
Fiji Cancer Society manager, Belinda Chan says a total of $65,000 has been spent on patient assistance.
Chan adds that donations from their Movember campaign last year are still being brought in, but so far from the Bushells Fiji’s Biggest morning Tea, Pink-Tober and Movember Awareness campaigns last year, an approximate total of $24,000 has been raised.
She says that all funds collected will go towards assisting cancer patients with treatment, procurement of medication, transportation and equipment.
Chan says that ahead of this year’s Fiji’s Biggest morning Tea Campaign, the Society will have a driving focus on prevention whilst creating awareness about cancer.
Chan also revealed that the Society hopes to set up a Psycho social group, to help counsel and support cancer patients and their loved ones.
