Fiji Airways to announce record profit

Fiji Airways will soon announce the highest profit ever achieved in the history of the airline.

This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while speaking at the Excellence in Tourism awards.

Bainimarama said Fiji Airways in the coming days will announce a profit amount that will establish it as one of the country’s revenue icons.

He said it will vindicate the decision which government made to re-brand the airline and make it more of a genuine national symbol.

The Fiji Airways group recorded an underlying operating profit of $17.2m from January 1st to June 30th 2014.

In the corresponding period of 2013, the Group’s underlying operating profit was $0.5 million.
