The Fiji Airways flight from Hong Kong to Nadi was cancelled yesterday due to a suspected bird strike.
Fijivillage has received confirmation from Fiji Airways that the suspected bird strike required their engineering teams to carry out a thorough inspection of the aircraft.
All affected guests were accommodated at hotels in Hong Kong last night and the flight departed Hong Kong at 1pm today.
Fiji Airways Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs Shaenaz Voss says they understand the cancellation and any subsequent wait was inconvenient for guests, and they have apologised for the disruption.
