A 25-year-old baker who had pleaded guilty to two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm and a count of act with intent to cause grievous harm has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.
The man had assaulted his wife, daughter and adopted daughter in Samabula this year.
The man had an argument with his wife regarding the teachings being given to their niece and daughter.
The wife told him that the children are still young and whatever they teach them, they will follow.
The man got angry and threw a cassava at his wife which hit her face, shoulder and arm and he also punched her on the neck.
On the 11th of June he slapped his three year old adopted daughter several times on her face and also hit her with a stick whilst putting her inside a 10kg sack.
He also hit the 3-year-old girl with a kitchen knife wooden handle and mobile cable charger.
The man hit his 4-year-old daughter on her face and hit her back several times with a wooden broom handle.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has not given a non-parole period.
