Charges have been laid against a man who allegedly sexually assaulted his 6-months-old baby.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions confirmed that the accused is the biological father of the baby.
The worrying trend continues as the DPP's Office revealed that there were 14 sexual offence cases recorded in domestic settings last month.
The DPP confirmed that a date rape drug was also used in one of the serious sexual offences.
29 people were charged with a total of 57 separate sexual assault incidents in April.
There were 41 cases of rape, 2 cases of attempted rape, 1 case of defilement and 13 cases of sexual assault.
One person under the age of 18 years was charged with two serious sexual offences.
There were a total of 15 victims under the age of 18 years.
Of the 15, there were 11 rape victims under the age of 18 years and five sexually assaulted victims who were also under 18 years.
Additionally, there were four counts of assault with intent to commit rape, 10 counts of abduction with the intent to commit rape and one count of murder as part of the act of rape.
