Fareed clarifies sacking of Gonelevu and Waqanika

The CEO of Fijian Holdings Limited, Nouzab Fareed said former Head of Content of Fiji Television Limited, Tanya Waqanika and former CEO, Tevita Gonelevu did not lose their jobs only because Fiji TV’s license is about to expire.

Fareed said they are expecting a new license for Fiji TV, however there are lot of other reasons why Gonelevu and Waqanika have been sent home.

He said they have a right to send someone home by compensation and they do not have to give a reason for the termination.

Waqanika has claimed that the reason why she lost her job is to secure the network license of Fiji TV.

Waqanika said she was not told of the reason why she has lost her job and she has done nothing wrong as she worked in the interest of the shareholders of Fiji TV.
