Family residing outside Lami receives tap water after 19 years

After a long 19 years, the Tukana family of Osonabukete settlement outside Lami has finally started receiving tap water.

The installation of the new water pressure management system has fixed the ongoing water disruption supply issue.

Setareki Tukana says their house is situated at a higher ground.

He says the struggle of making up nine trips a day, walking to a water filling point which is about 50 metres from their home to fetch water for drinking, washing, cooking and bathing has ended.

Tukana says he raised his concerns with the Water Authority of Fiji and is grateful as his prayers have been answered.
