Hindu families are now looking forward to hosting family and friends from different ethnic backgrounds as they celebrate Diwali tonight.
Fijivillage spoke to a few families in Vatuwaqa this morning that were doing last minute preparations for the Festival of Lights.
They said this is the time where people can unite and come together to celebrate Diwali.
Meanwhile, the Director for the Mineral Resources Department Malakai Finau said people will be allowed to use fireworks on Diwali night till 12am.
Finau said those caught breaching the time period can face fines of up to $400.
He said adult supervision is requested from parents and guardians while children are using fireworks.
