Over five families that were left stranded at the Nabouwalu Jetty yesterday due to transportation issues with Patterson Shipping are currently at Nabouwalu Jetty where they will be boarding another boat at 8.30am this morning.
Shivani Prakash who was one those waiting to comeback to Suva from Labasa has confirmed that Patterson Shipping has arranged for them to board this morning.
Prakash had earlier told Fijivillage saying they had boarded the ship yesterday morning but realized that their vehicle was not on board.
She says that she was not allowed to get off the ship however after much persuasion, she and a few other passengers who were facing the same issue returned to the jetty on a lifeboat.
Patterson Shipping Spokesperson, David Patterson had said that there was an issue of overloading and they will be transporting the passengers to Suva on the next available ship.
He had said that they were investigating the matter from their end.
