The Fiji Sugar Corporation intends to provide startup packages for people interested in taking up employment within the sugar industry.
To attract more people in cane farming, FSC will provide farmers with a house, startup equipment and land which will be leased to them through the iTaukei land trust board.
FSC Executive Chairman Abdul Khan said they are experiencing growth in the industry however they are far from true potential which is harvesting four million tonnes of cane per season.
He added that this programme they are currently designing is for those who want to enter the industry.
The programme is similar to the government scholarships for those interested in agriculture farming.
