The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and Biosecurity Authority of Fiji will be using Non‑Intrusive Inspection Technologies at the Suva Wharf to conduct inspections.
This will begin from next Tuesday.
This will be done to give a quick insight of the cargo load of container or pallet without the need to open it.
In a joint statement, both organizations have said that this can help significantly reduce the number of physical inspections, time required for inspection and will minimize delays in clearance of unregulated articles.
This is a pilot phase and it will continue for the next 6 weeks.
