The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority has verified 4,430 applications for registration for the Government’s free medicine initiative.
Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Veena Bhatnagar said those that have been registered can now get listed medicine from the designated 50 private pharmacies for free.
Bhatnagar said all of the 50 participating pharmacies have been advised of the candidates eligible under this scheme.
She added pharmacies will identify eligible applicants through their date of birth as they won’t be issuing any cards for this program for now.
Bhatnagar said under this program 72 types of medicine are listed.
She said those earning $20,000 and below can register for this program.
She added this program is for individuals but people can include their children under their name if they are below the age of 18.
