The Fiji Roads Authority has spent $15,000 so far this year to repair bus shelters damaged through acts of vandalism.
FRA says is it disappointing as their contractors work hard in trying to put the signs and bus stops up and after such a great effort someone deliberately damages the road assets.
They say the acts of vandalism compromises public safety and it is associated with costly repairs.
FRA says the people need to be mindful that these signs are important to motorists and the public as they provide guidance on safety matters and help to prevent accidents.
The new bus shelters which has a category 4 cyclone certification cost $34,940.70.
