The Fiji Roads Authority today met with a number of organisations representing persons with disabilities and discussed accessibility issues in relation to road infrastructure and excess to public buildings and health services.
Executive Director of the Fiji National Council for Disabled Persons, Sitiveni Yanuyanutawa says persons with disabilities both in Vanua Levu and Viti Levu will always be challenged with accessibility to key locations like supermarkets and banks.
He says they are happy that the Fiji Roads Authority has come up with this initiative.
More meetings of these sort are expected to take place in the coming months with relevant stakeholders.
