The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that it has made a submission to its aligned Ministry, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for a budget allocation that would be in the order of what they were given for this year.
FRA Chief Executive Officer Neil Cook said this would allow them to continue the current development programs which they already have in place.
He said the reforms which the FRA is undertaking will require a significant amount of money over a period of five to ten years.
Cook added that the government had shown their support for the reforms which the FRA is undertaking and they hope that it would continue with this when next year’s budget will be announced.
The Fiji Roads Authority had a budget allocation $454.7 million for this year which was an increase of $32 million from 2013.
