Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore is impressed with ongoing works carried out by their two new contractors on the four lane road from Nakasi to the Rewa Bridge.
Moore who visited the work site today says works carried out by Higgins Fiji and Dayals Quarries are far quicker with far better quality of delivery and responsiveness than their previous contractors.
Moore adds that work is anticipated to be completed by June this year if weather permits and will ease the traffic congestion between the Suva-Nausori Corridor.
The FRA CEO has also applauded the footpath construction works on the site by 786 Civil Contractors.
Moore says they have offered 786 Civil Contractors the contract as they have been doing good work for FRA in the west.
He adds in the future small contractors like 786 Civil Contractors can be given major contracts for road works as they are doing a great job.
The CEO also highlighted that motorists are the main challenge to their works however he adds that they are happy with the new CEO of LTA as he brings with him broad knowledge that will assist FRA in their works.
Meanwhile, Moore says there is a possibility that a switch on travelling lanes will take place next week on the site.
Motorists will be shifted to the constructed road while works will continue on other new lanes.
230 workers are handling the road works between Nakasi to Nausori.
