The Fiji National University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Apollo Hospital from India which will ensure that the contributions to development in the medical field by Apollo Medical College would be shared with FNU.
Vice Chancellor, Dr Ganesh Chand said they have been working with Apollo for a number of years.
Chand said the super specialty tertiary hospital will be based in Lautoka which will cost millions of dollars.
He said they will await the announcement of the National Budget for the allocation of the project.
Meanwhile the first step that they took was to set up the Tele medicine Clinic for the staff at FNU.
Dr Chand said another big project under the agreement is the Diagnostic Clinic at Waimanu Road.
He said as soon as the budget is announced we will start the construction.
