Fiji National University is planning to double it’s expenditure on repairs and maintenance next year.
FNU Chancellor Iqbal Jannif says the University is planning to double it’s expenditure on repairs and maintenance next year from $4 million to $8 million.
He says the actual expenditure for this year rose to $2 million from that of 2016.
Jannif says Fiji has a gross tertiary enrolment ratio of only 16% as revealed by UNESCO for the year 2005, however 12 years on, the figure now sits at 61% which almost double the world average which is 35%.
He says the increase ratio indicates that Higher Education in Fiji has travelled a huge milestone in the last decade.
