The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has welcomed the amendment to the Proceeds of Crimes Act.
Speaking at the Public Accounts Committee meeting, the Senior State Counsel Francis Puleiwai says with the new amendment in place, FICAC assess the assets of the accused after their conviction.
An application is then made in court.
Puleiwai says the court decides which assets should be confiscated by FICAC.
FICAC also highlighted that they have had 100 percent success in proceedings in court last year.
