A 40-year-old FICAC officer Peniasi Mualaulau who is charged with 3 counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception and 3 counts of serious computer offences has been released on bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.
He was produced before Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.
The Magistrate imposed a travel ban on Mualaulau and told him to surrender all his travel documents.
He is released with two sureties on $4,000 bail bond each.
The case is adjourned to the 20th of next month.
It is alleged that on 26th November last year, Mualaulau obtained $800 from a person for overseas travel arrangements which he failed to honour.
He allegedly did the same between 1st and 31st December when he obtained $1,500 each from two people for overseas travel arrangements which he failed to honour.
It is also alleged that between 1st and 10th February this year without authorisation he modified an electronic airplane ticket under his name held in a computer, changing it to the name of Luke Masirewa knowing that the modification was unauthorised.
He allegedly repeated this offence twice again using the names Kolinio Nakarawa and Josaia Bainivanua.
