FICAC investigating Fiji Corrections Service - AG

Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has today confirmed that some operational matters in the Fiji Corrections Service are currently under investigation.

Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed in parliament today that FICAC is investigating the matter after Opposition MP, Ratu Sela Nanovo asked the Attorney General on who owns the supermarkets at the major prison centres in Suva, Naboro, Lautoka and Labasa.

Sayed-Khaiyum says he cannot make any further comments when the opposition asked him for more information.

FICAC will not comment on the investigation regarding the Fiji Corrections Service.

FICAC spokesperson, Nandni Vandhana told Legend FM News that they cannot reveal anything.

Meanwhile Commissioner of Fiji Corrections Service, Lt Colonel Ifereimi Vasu says the supermarkets are owned by the Officers Welfare.

Vasu adds that he is also aware that the investigation has been going on for about a month.
