FICAC has now filed action against Feroz Jan Mohammed and his Company T F Jan Limited under Proceeds of Crimes Act.
Feroz Jan was convicted and sentenced in the Suva High Court last year for Bribery and Obtaining Financial Advantage charges.
It was alleged that T F Jan Limited fraudulently obtained over $3.1 million from Fiji Roads Authority.
FICAC filed this action under Proceeds of Crimes Act for the forfeiture of property obtained by T F Jan Limited using $3.1 million of proceeds.
The matter was called today before High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo.
FICAC lawyer, Rashmi Aslam sought that a restraining order be issued against the respondent to maintain the status quo of the property.
Justice Temo issued a restraining order against the respondent prohibiting any transaction or dealings in the proceeds for 14 days.
The matter has been adjourned to 7th July for mention in the Civil High Court.
