The Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji will be targeting to assist 1,120 children this year.
FENC National Executive Coordinator Joape Kunikoro said every year they try to assist at least 1,000 children.
Kunikoro said they are planning to hold walkathons around the country to help raise funds.
He said they are targeting to raise $100,000 from the walkathons which will be held later this month.
He said the funds raised will go towards helping children from the poorest families go to school which they will be identifying.
Kunikoro said they will provide school bags, school shoes, uniforms and sometimes exercise books.
Meanwhile, President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau launched the FENC Fiji Day celebration last night.
Ratu Epeli pledged to participate in the walkathon and also raise funds.
