The Fiji Electricity Authority is now testing its $72 million Kinoya Diesel Power station.
FEA Chief Executive Officer, Hasmukh Patel said this project will increase their electricity generation capacity during prolonged dry weather conditions, and they will be able to manage without rationing electricity.
Patel said the official opening of the station will be done in November.
He said FEA is currently working on more projects.
The four generators have been brought in from Finland and were installed by Pernix Fiji Limited.
