FEA gives its first ever dividend payout of $20M in 51 years

The Fiji Electricity Authority has today given its first ever dividend payout of $20 million in fifty one years to the government.

While presenting the cheque to Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, FEA Chairman Dakshesh Patel says that the shareholders of FEA have provided guidance and allowed them to work independently without any interference.

He also acknowledged the hard work of all the FEA staff.

Meanwhile Sayed-Khaiyum says that this is a momentous time for FEA since they have never given a dividend before.

He stresses that over the past ten years they have put out an unprecedented amount of money into infrastructure.
