The export earnings from the agricultural products to the US market is expected to reach $10 million next year.
Acting Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Uraia Waibuta said the US market is a potential one for export growth and in the last five years the export earnings increased from $4 million to $7.5 million.
Waibuta said an agricultural delegation is expected to leave this week for USA to explore the export commodity markets for dalo, cassava, coconut, ginger, eggplant, pineapple and yaqona.
He added that the team will look at ways to advance Fiji’s agriculture products interest into the US markets and identify issues on the trade of these commodities as well as explore ways to increase market share in the US.
