Experts from India will be conducting free screening for people with disability who suffer from Orthopaedic Deformity and eye problems to help them get better.
Director Sahyadri Specialty Pacific Hospital Fiji Manu Munibhargav says the screening is expected to begin from the end of this month.
Munibhargav says surgeries will be performed here in Fiji, however if the surgery is too complicated, patients will then be taken to India.
He says that screening will be done in Labasa, Suva, Sigatoka, Ba and Lautoka.
This is a joint partnership with Sahyadri Specialty Pacific Hospital Fiji and the Ministry of Health.
Earlier this year during the visit of India’s Minister for External Affairs VK Singh, he announced that a Rehabilitation hospital for people with disability will be established in Fiji through the partnership of both governments.
