The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that it has called in an expatriate to train some of the subcontractors on how to manage traffic in the right manner.
FRA Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore says once that is in place, traffic will be quite easy to maintain and manage.
Moore says they need to ensure that the person assigned to manage traffic knows what they are doing.
He says FRA has to ensure that the training is complete, and the people controlling traffic fully understand what their responsibilities are.
The CEO says the problem with traffic management is that if people do it wrong by a small amount, it can have massive effects on the traffic.
Moore says the first thing he noticed after arriving in Fiji is that traffic management was not done as it should be.
