Attorney General and Minister for Elections, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said any employer who intends to open for business during the Elections Day public holiday tomorrow cannot force their staff to work without voting.
In a press conference, Sayed-Khaiyum stresses that this public holiday has been gazetted to allow everyone to vote.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the main priority for tomorrow is for people to vote.
He said their recommendation is for people to vote first and then go to work.
He said shops and supermarkets can open tomorrow as per municipal regulations.
