Embracing renewable energy is key to solving the challenge of climate change which poses such a danger to our way of life in the Pacific.
This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while officiating the launch of Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji’s Solar Energy project at their manufacturing facility in Laucala Beach Estate today.
Bainimarama says that through this initiative by Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji is taking the key leadership role in persuading Private Enterprise throughout the Pacific to do the same.
He has also acknowledged Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji for their initiative in ensuring that 40 percent of their production is now powered by Solar Energy.
Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji and Sunergise Fiji and New Zealand have entered into a partnership that has installed more than 3,800 solar panels at Coca-Cola’s Laucala Beach Production Plant which produces 1.4m kilowatt hours of energy per year and this is equivalent of saving 414,722 litres of diesel per year, or planting 24,964 trees.
