The government also delivers on its promise by increasing the electricity subsidy for low-income families from the current 75 kilowatts to 85 kilowatts.
This will provide immediate relief to thousands of households.
Sayed-Khaiyum said they are also committed to improve access to electricity to those who are currently unconnected.
He said the government is increasing the budget provision for rural electrification projects to $19.5 million to cater for the extension of electricity supply, solar system installations and house wiring.
