The Multinational Observer Group who will observe the country’s general elections next month has already started its work.
With the arrival of the Group’s Observer Coordinator Andrew Goledzinowski he is now having a number of briefings with members of the diplomatic corps.
The Fijian Elections Office has accredited the Multinational Observer Group to assess whether the outcome of the September 17th general elections broadly represents the will of the Fijian voters.
India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia will co-lead the mission and will be joined by representatives from other countries invited by Fiji to observe the elections.
The Observer group also witnessed the closing of the nominations for party candidates at the Fijian Elections Office earlier this week.
