Three men appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court charged with aggravated robbery and act with intent to cause grievous harm.

Anasa Lenikali, Joeli Cama and Seru Koroi appeared before Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.

The alleged incident occurred last Wednesday at Lakeba Street, Samabula.

It is alleged that the three men entered the home of a 64-year-old man through the sitting room window after using pinch bars and stones.

The court heard that the complainant and his wife were still sleeping when the three men approached them in their bedroom and then demanded for $600.

It is also alleged that the men beat up the 64-year-old man with a pinch bar and when the wife went to save him, they hit her with a pinch bar then later dragged her into the room where they hit her head again with a pinch bar resulting in her getting unconscious.

It was further alleged that after the man saw his wife unconscious then he gave the three accused $600 after which they fled the house.

The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court for the 2nd of February.
