A 24‑year‑old man who stole eggs from Ram Sami Poultry Farm has been handed a suspended sentence 2 years 7 months and 3 weeks.
Saimoni Colati who was a Security Officer at Rami Sami Poultry pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated burglary and theft at the first opportunity.
Colati on the 29th of June this year entered the Ram Sami Poultry farm in Navua and stole 5 trays of eggs valued at $65.
While delivering the sentence High Court Judge Justice Chamath Morais said that the man had no previous convictions.
Justice Morais also said that the man had saved the courts time by an early guilty plea.
Colati’s sentence has been suspended for a period of 5 years.
