Minister for Education Dr Mahendra Reddy will today see the report from the Disciplinary Board regarding the teacher who has been suspended for allegedly locking a Year 2 student in a fridge two weeks ago.
Reddy said the Disciplinary Board met last Friday to discuss the incident and has decided to suspend the teacher.
He added that the teacher who has a few more years before retiring has other cases against him.
Doctor Reddy said if other cases against him were dealt with, this incident would not have happened in the first place.
He added that the student is currently undergoing counseling and is recovering at home.
Reddy said that he will make sure this does not happen again in the future.
Meanwhile, Police have questioned and released the teacher.
He is expected to be charged later.
