“By the end of next year, we will be able to fix a lot of things in the primary and secondary school system.”
Those were the words of Minister for Education, Arts and National Heritage Dr Mahendra Reddy who was formally welcomed at the University of the South Pacific today.
Dr Reddy said this will ensure that the university gets the right quality of students.
He added there were a lot of problems but this will be a thing of the past.
Dr Reddy said the government will continue to work closely with national institutions.
Meanwhile, USP’s Vice Chancellor Professor Rajesh Chandra said they understand and support the government’s ambition to create a knowledge based society.
He added that they are also working closely with the government’s flagship program of Tertiary Education Loan Scheme and Scholarship Scheme.
