The Minister for Education Rosy Akbar has made the reassurance that the students will continue with their education in a safe environment which is of paramount importance.
This is after a fire late Friday afternoon destroyed four classrooms, a library and computer laboratory at Vuci Methodist Primary School.
In a statement Akbar says that the Ministry with the school management and the Head of School have made arrangements for the students whose classrooms have been destroyed by the fire.
The arrangements made are that students of Year 701 and 702 of Vuci Methodist Primary School resume classes from Tuesday at the school while Year 301 and 502 students will resume classes from Wednesday at the school.
Akbar has also stressed that all other classes will operate as normal as the rest of the school has not been affected and these students should report for school as usual tomorrow.
She adds that all teachers should report to school tomorrow, to assist with setting up the new classroom arrangements.
The Education Minister has also highlighted that the school's staff room and the assembly hall will be converted for the classes that were affected.
Akbar also acknowledged Lelean Memorial School, Dilkusha Girls School, Dilkusha Boys School and Dilkusha Methodist High School for their assistance in providing furniture.
She adds that new text books will be delivered to Vuci Methodist primary School tomorrow and new computers will be provided once space at the school is available.
The Education Minister says they are also working with the school and Ministry of Economy to address a replacement facility for classrooms.
Akbar says that the initial damage assessment is $424,000 and this will continue to be evaluated.
