The Fiji Roads Authority has re‑opened Edinburgh Drive with two lanes operating.
FRA CEO Jonathan Moore says investigations into the cracks discovered during the recent road works have been completed and the consultants to the FRA have advised that they believe that there is no imminent danger.
Moore says FRA will be doing more detailed investigations over the coming week, and there may be times when the road may have to be temporarily returned to single lane to permit the investigation.
He says road users are requested to observe speed limits in this area as well as in all other areas of roadworks around Fiji because they have workers operating in close proximity to the moving traffic.
He has also advised the road‑using public that if they detect any ground movement in the highway or the surrounding area they will be closing the road immediately.
