Earnings for the tourism industry for the first half of the year has increased by 10.6% to $688.5million compared to 2014.
This has been revealed by the Minister for Tourism Faiyaz Koya during the opening Vodafone/Westpac HOTEC 2015 Tradeshow.
Koya says visitor arrivals in Fiji until September 2015 has also increased by 9.2% to 560,179 compared to the same period last year.
He says as visitor numbers are increasing, this will lead to expansion of hotels and new developments to meet the needs of the visitors.
There are 30 exhibitors this year for the HOTEC Tradeshow which is currently underway at the Sofitel in Denarau.
