There was an early fire this morning at the Northpole Hotel in Labasa where the building was partly damaged.
National Fire Authority CEO, John O’ Connor confirmed that he received a call from Labasa Fire station at 10.02 this morning.
He said that according to the Divisional Fire Officer Northern, Peleki Leweniqila, the fire allegedly started from the kitchen.
O’Connor said that the quick response from the Fire Rescue team in Labasa, they managed to put out the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
The cost of damage is yet to be ascertained as investigations continue.
